Murphy beds
A Murphy bed is often times known as a fold away bed or wallbed. This kind of bed is the one that flips up at the head end giving it vertical storage inside a cabinet or close. To do this, the mattress is connected to the frame of the bed, usually done with a bolt at each corner.
The Murphy beds are utilized for a host of purposes foremost of which is for space-saving purposes, similar to a trundle bed is.

A similar kind of bed is the hideaway bed, first given patent rights in 1885 by the name of Sarah E. Goode. A hideaway bed also folds up when it is being use, but is not hidden behind a wall or closet, rather it serves as double use as a shelf or desk. |
